Harvest of Hope

What a lovely day celebrating Harvest at Flackwell Heath Methodist Church! It was wonderful to see our newly renovated building full of people, sharing food, getting creative and celebrating together. Our collection was donated to Christian Aid and we received food gifts for the Flackwell Heath Community Pantry.

Our windows were beautifully decorated by our playgroups, Girls’ Brigade and Coffee Morning friends around the theme of Harvest of Hope, linked with Christian Aid. Thank you to everyone who contributed: they brought so much colour to the church and gave us a lovely reminder of all we have to be thankful for, and the hope we can share with others.

We enjoyed a wonderfully busy Harvest Lunch, with plenty of food and conversation! In the afternoon, Kate led Creative Church: a truly intergenerational service, bringing all ages together through crafts and music.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day happen, from decorating the windows and preparing lunch to setting up and clearing away - and to everyone who came along! It was such a joy to celebrate Harvest in our refreshed building, making new memories together.

Our next Community Lunch will be on November 1st at midday. It will be followed by our Creative Church service again at 2.30. You are very welcome to join!
